The Bombers were born in 1995 through the merger of Northern & Echuca Football League rivals Leitchville and Gunbower, both of whom had long histories going back over 100 years. Currently, 3 football sides and 7 netball sides compete in the Heathcote & District FNL, with an additional 3 junior football teams competing in the Goulburn Murray Junior Football League.
